Below Average Adventurer is a game that attempts to focus on recreating the experience of an adventurer that has to start from nearly nothing. People will attempt to exploit you, food will be sparse, and you will have to make the most of what little you get.

The gameplay is inspired by Terraformental, using 'loading bars' to complete actions which can lead you to other locations with different actions. The main challenge comes from the fact that you will need to upkeep your basic needs as time will always be ticking so long as an action is active. This is NOT an incremental game and you are in fact expected to control your actions carefully, even if there are still some idle mechanics.

Expect the game to be quite slow at first. There's also only one real fight now, and quite a simple one, the other fight is impossible to win by regular means. It's also obviously reaaally early in development, so expect a clunky, incomplete, mildly ugly experience until everything's ironed out. If you're playing this, please notify me of bugs and where and how it triggered.


Also, you might run out of content fast, so assume that most questlines only have around 1 quest unless implied otherwise. There will be more to explore eventually, but it might take some time to get there.

The "get combat lessons" action gets stuck in a loop and after you do it, from that point forward the dialog will continue to trigger after every action you complete. Nothing seems to be able to remove this effect once it is in place, tried the trashcan button, saving and loading, refreshing the page, it just keeps coming up

I'll get on fixing it, I think I forgot to fixup some things on release. Thanks for notifying me, I somehow didn't catch that one on testing.

it should be fixed now. I also only realized now that the combat keybind don't show before the battle start like they should (which makes the sparring woman's text before the fight start feel a bit out of place.) There are probably a few more things I haven't caught, especially web specific issues.
